Summary: PDMA Balochistan is working to ensure the protection of people, property, infrastructure, and material resources in order to minimize injury, loss of life, and damage to property resulting from any disaster or incident. The PDMA needed external support for strengthening its procedures particularly related to the NGOs humanitarian projects/work. As a result of the consultative process with the authorities an Early Recovery Project designed under the Umbrella of Humanitarian Coordination and Information Management theme. Project goal was to extend Institutional Strengthening support to PDMA. Initiative for Development and Empowerment Axis (IDEA) and WESS in partnership with Concern was extended institutional support to PDMA for strengthening of its existing systems and mechanism for effective humanitarian response. The support included designing four online modules and hardware support for PDMA Balochistan.
In above connection a web-based Project was developed along with a No Objection (NOC) Module for PDMA; 01 computerized File Tracking Module; 01 M&E manual; Standard Operational Procedure manual and provision of a IT Server along with three (3) desktops, three (3) laptops and six (6) printer cum scanners were also provided to PDMA. In addition to this a quality UPS with two Batteries and four (4) internet devices for PDMA also provided to PDMA. Apart from this a workshop on MIRA was also conducted in collaboration with UNOCHA. Two consultative workshops conducted to get inputs of relevant stakeholders on developed software. Apart from this Two trainings also conducted to train the participants of humanitarian organization and PDMA/DDMA on DMIS, NOC module, progress monitoring module and M&E manual, disaster compensation and file tracking system module. The operationalization of computerized soft-wares reduced the paper-works in office- contributing towards reducing environment hazards i.e. burning papers. Appropriate Covid-19 pandemic mitigation measure was adopted to curtail the risk of this virus spread and infections

Impact
- Project developed software helped the PDMA staff to maintain proper documentation of the ongoing, completed projects through a web-based application. It also provides a clean and user-friendly interface to the user, improved planning processes with timely sharing of information, so that redundancy and duplication is avoided, facilitated in decision making and assessment of identification, preparation, feasibility, analysis, design, appraisal, approval, control, evaluation and follow up throughout the project cycle.
